The house of Son Tinh

The House of Son Tinh is an official sponsor of Vietnam’s first International Film Festival. 5 award winning films will be screened at The House of Son Tinh, one film per night, during the Festival period, with free popcorn and special beer prices!

Sun 17 Oct 2010, 8pm
“DON’T BURN”
War epic based on the famous diary of Doctor Dang Thuy Tram. Directed by Dang Nhat Minh, who has won awards at national and foreign film festivals.

Mon 18 Oct 2010, 8pm
“INDOCHINE”
1992 French film set in colonial French Indochina during the 1930s. Directed by Régis Wargnier, starring Catherine Deneuve, Vincent Perez, Linh Dan Pham, Jean Yanne and Dominique Blanc.

Tue 19 Oct 2010, 8 pm
“ADRIFT”
Directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, the first Vietnamese director to have won a prize at the Cannes Festival, in 2000. Won The International Critics Prize at the 66th Venice Film Festival 2009.

Wed 20 Oct 2010, 8 pm
“THE WHITE SILK DRESS”
Acclaimed 2007 Vietnamese war-drama epic directed by Luu Huynh and starring Truong Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Quoc Khanh.

Thurs 21 Oct 2010, 8pm
“THE LOVER”
1992 drama produced by Claude Berri and directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud. The film details the illicit affair between a teenage French girl and a wealthy Chinese man in 1929 Vietnam.
